Doug’s goal is to create a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school that is professional and equally welcoming to all men, women and children. It’s our goal to share our passion for the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with all of those who may need it most! He has over 20 years of teaching experience and is a strong advocate of children learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! He holds master’s degrees in elementary and special education and has experience working with children of all ages and abilities. He believes in helping new students create a strong foundation in the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His focus is to help students gain confidence, learn self-defense for the street, train sport Jiu-Jitsu and share the art and positive-lifestyle of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Gee Vien began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in 2007 and earned his black belt in 2019.
Beginning a coaching journey as an assistant instructor in 2013, he focused on blending both self-defense and sport. His goal is to share the effectiveness and artistry of BJJ to empower those who may need it most. With a background in personal training, he has adopted a teaching style that is energetic yet safe.
When not training and teaching, Gee appreciates balancing his life off the mats with time alongside loved ones, hiking, traveling, exploring, studying, and walks with the family dog Lola.

Professor Julio Rodriguez Started training in USA GO JU Karate in 1968 and has continued his Martial Arts training and earning multiple Blackbelts! Styles RCJ Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Suriya Sak Muay Thai, Chung Moo Kwan Hapkido, Doce Pares Eskrima.
Professor Rodriguez has trained Jiu-Jitsu athletes to compete at the highest level! Professor has also trained MMA fighters at the highest level! Professor Rodriguez has affiliate schools in New Jersey and New York. His Anaconda Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is under RCJ Machado and Master Carlos Machado!
April Parks is a proud Syracuse Native with a multi-sport background. Her resume includes ES-M Hall of Fame inductee, Division 1 Track & Field Athlete at Syracuse University and 4x IBJJF World Champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
April is a passionate advocate for women, children, fitness and self-defense. For 20 years she has worked with, and advocated for, children and families in the Syracuse City from teaching to social work. Teaching and empowering, on all levels, are April’s true calling.
In teaching BJJ, it is April’s intention to spread love for the art that brought health, wellness, self-defense, opportunity, passion, friends and fulfillment to her life. Coaching BJJ brings April tremendous pride and happiness as nothing is more rewarding than helping someone to both reach their potential and simultaneously learn to defend themselves.
When April is not on the mats she can be found spending time with family and friends, traveling the world competing and running women’s Jiu-Jitsu camps. April enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with her dog, Lola.
